Johnny Scott his First USMTS for the Casey’s Cup National
While the weather this year has been unpredictable, the performance of Johnny Scott and his Scott Brothers Racing/VanderBuilt Modified Chassis team has not. Scott opened the 2018 USMTS campaign back in February by winning the first two Summit USMTS Southern Series features at the South Texas Speedway in Corpus Christi, Texas and never looked back as the 28-year-old from Las Cruces, N.M. ended his national championship season by winning the last two races in the USMTS Hunt for the Casey’s Cup. Johnny’s season totals were both series high with 13 wins and 28 top 5’s in 37 starts. Not to be outdone by his brother, fellow Allstar Performance driver and teammate Stormy Scott had a great season as well by finishing second in the points with 5 wins and 21 top 5’s. Rounding out the 2018 points championship are Allstar drivers Rodney Sanders finishing third and Zack VanderBeek hanging on to the fourth position.
